About Me

Hello, I'm Ms. McCauley!

Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year!

Hello, I am Ms. McCauley. I'm thrilled to announce that this will be my second year teaching. I am excited to continue my journey at Bell Oaks Upper Elementary School! I will be teaching 7th Grade ELA.
While this is my second year as a certified teacher, I haven't been a stranger to the classroom--so to speak. From 2017 to 2020, I was a substitute teacher in many elementary, middle, and high school classrooms ranging from inclusion, multiple disabilities, high/low functioning, special areas, etc.
From 2018 to 2020, I was the Twilight classroom aide at Clayton Middle/High School.

During the 2019-2020 school year, I completed my full-year clinical residency at Charles W. Lewis Middle School with an unforgettable 8th grade class, and more specifically, the students in my ELA grade classes. Following the completion of my clinical residency, I graduated from Rowan University (May 2020) with my Master's in Science of Teaching K-12 Education. I earned my Bachelor of Art in English, from University, the year prior (2019).

Lastly, while this does not involve a classroom or students particularly, I do believe it's an important aspect of my life that I would like to share with you. Since October 2018, I've worked as a Direct Professional Support staff under New Jersey's Department of Developmental Disabilities (NJ DDD) with a 29 (soon-to-be 30) year old male, named Brandon, who is on the Autism Spectrum, alongside a Severe Comorbid  Behavioral Disorder. As of July 2020, I was promoted to House Manager.

Now, you may be wondering why I'm telling you all of this information. The reason being is that I know there will be a lot of pressure this year, with me being a first-year teacher, especially during a pandemic. Essentially, this role is new for me, but I want to assure you that I will always have my students' best interests at heart, along with their social and emotional well-being. I wholeheartedly believe the classroom was made for me and I can't wait to dive head-first into the 2020-2021 school year.

I know this year may look (and feel) different from previous years; however, I can promise that I will try my very best each and every day to make this an unforgettable year despite the many challenges and changes that may come our way.
