Touch Keyboarding Skills
Students will practice Touch Typing Skills (typing without looking at keyboard) for 8 to 10 minutes per class during Technology Literacy. They will complete guided lessons while using a keyboard cover not allowing them to see the keys. A feel of the Home Row and the anchor keys (F and J) will allow them to navigate the keyboard without sight. They are doing this with the intent of improving upon their current method which is usually the "Hunt and Peck" method.

Their progress can be monitored by seeing their Pre, Mid, and Post scores located in Gradebook on the Parent Portal.

SEE-THINK-MOVE is the mantra that is stressed to the students. Slowing down the reaction to the keystroke and making it a thought out process will train the brain to know where the key is without looking.
