Composer of the Month
October's Composer of the Month is Camille Saint-Saens!

Camille Saint-Saens was born on October 9th, 1835 in Paris.  He was an only child and his parents realized that he had perfect pitch.  If you asked him to sing a note, he could sing it without using a piano!  He performed his first concert at the age of 10 where he performed Mozart and Beethoven.  At the age of 13, he was admitted into the Paris Conservatory which is France's best music academy.  He taught private piano in the 1860's and fought in the National Guard in the 1870's.  He has composed a wide variety of piano composition, orchestral compositions, and operas.
